We are happy to announce that Singing A Great Dream won two awards at the Darbhanga International Film Festival in Darbhanga, Bihar, India: Best International Documentary, and Best International Director.

Bhakta Syangtan expresses it best (in Nepali, below): “Dear brother Khusiram Pakhrin! Whether during the Panchayat era or the People’s War, it seems like only yesterday that you told us the stories of your difficult underground days, traveling through the alleyways of Amritsar, Gorakhpur, Darbhanga, Patna, and Delhi. We screened the documentary about your life here. When it won Best International Documentary Award, and Best Documentary Director, Anna Stirr and I were very moved, with thoughts of you filling our minds. We looked for your footprints in the railway stations. We saw that the situation remains the same for those wearing the dhaka topi, those for whom you felt love upon seeing them from far away, who inspired you to compose lyrics and set them to music that now flows from the tongues of all revolutionary artists in Nepal. We are very excited by this next step in our efforts to show the world your great dream, through Singing A Great Dream.”
